Batala Manchester is hosting a special workshop with Stavros of Batala Atenas - by invitation only
A 5 hour rhythm and culture workshop where Stavros will teach us more about the cultural & historical roots of the music that we play in Batala, specifically the significance of the various rhythms and the associated movements that form bloco cohesion and energy.
Priority for workshop space will be given to Batala Manchester members and Musical directors and callers from other UK bands, with spare player allocation at the discretion of attending musical directors, subject to individual benefit. Availability is expected to be limited due to space restrictions and places are not guaranteed until confirmed.

Explanation of the roots of our music and meaning of various claves
Development of new Giba Manchester tune “Albelha” (see video here https://youtu.be/mQeSzBTwPC8)
From 18.00pm onwards - a pint in our local pub near to the rehearsal hall "The Chorlton Tap" 533 Wilbraham Rd, Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Manchester M21 0UE, with possible caipirinhas and feijoada to follow.

Pay the £10 fee (UK participants, fee does not apply to those flying from Athens) once your place has been confirmed by a Manchester Mundo team member

Book and pay for your own hotel or let us know if you would like to be hosted overnight by a Manchester member (we cannot guarantee this will be possible)
