May 2023 - 20 year anniversary of Batala Nantes
We spent 5 days in Nantes with our French sister bands celebrating their 20 year anniversary at a beautiful Chateau. With many parties and much Caipirinha, we still managed to put on an energetic show consisting of two parades through the city!
April 2023 - St Georges Day Parade Manchester
On Sunday 23/04/23 we followed our launch gig with participation in the St Georges Day Parade, supporting the Lord Mayors' Charity "We Love Manchester". We marched down Oldham Street with the parade and performed two static sets in Picadilly Gardens, the crowd got involved in dancing and drumming with us and it was such a great celebratory vibe!
April 2023 - Launch gig event, Manchester city centre
Saturday 22/04/23 was our very first gig in Manchester as their newest, biggest and loudest Afro Brazilian samba reggae band. We played five sets all over the city starting in Bridge Street off Deansgate, moving to Cathedral Gardens, The National Football Museum and finally a parade Down Thomas St in the Northern Quarter (inclusive of a hilarious drum off with a rave DJ) culminating in a huge party set in Stevenson Square. The crowd loved us and the reception was tremendous. We have never seen so many people dancing and enjoying the music! MANCHESTER ROCKS!
